Israeli  Contemporary photography auction

Sometime in early 1995 –shortly after resigning from the Tel Aviv Museum of Art –Ronnie was approached by the artists that founded Limbus Gallery for photography.

They were complaining that virtually none of the rather small group of collectors existing at that time bought contemporary, photography and asked for help.

Ronnie came up with idea to organize auction which may draw the attention of collectors to this "new" art form.

The auction was organized by Tiroche Auctions where director Mickey Tiroche loved the idea.

A list of important artist was drawn and the auction announced. After that a major effort to interest collectors was organized by Ronnie.

The auction was practically sold out and the rest is history.

The enclosed photo is front page of the auction and forward by Ronnie.
